Greenfield and Brownfield Minimum Staffed Operational Models

Stepchange Global has developed an Operations and Design Challenge Process (ODCP) based on significant design and operations experience with early as well as next generation minimum staffed facilities.  This approach reduces up-front capital and long-term operating costs by driving towards minimised facility designs which are minimally staffed; have lower maintenance and inspection requirements; are inherently safe; and are reliable by design.  These new operating models typically include remote operations and engineering support, remote-control and minimum field staffing.  Typical expected outcomes are a 10-40% reduction in capital cost and 50-80% reduction in operating cost.

Brownfield Minimum Staffing Assessment

We have developed a brownfield minimum staffing operations assessment that builds on our extensive knowledge of DOF and IO, and combined with our operational experience, can extensively and sustainably reduce staffing in the field without affecting production, safety or integrity.  A safe, simple and reliable approach to unstaffed platform design and operation has the potential to transform the project economics of marginal fields by reducing the amount of equipment and maintenance staff-hours needed to run a platform.

Projects

This approach has been applied to all types of operation including offshore oil and gas, onshore oil and gas, FPSOs, LNG and unconventionals.  Stepchange Global is also recognised as a world leader in the design of remote integrated control centres for both oil and gas and mining.
